After years of hanging out around community gardens, believing with them in all my heart, enjoying the fruits of them, and dropping my compost off at them, I am finally going to join one! Just put in my application today. Stay tuned for pics of the plot’s progress.

At the risk of confirming Kathryn’s suspicion that I go shopping every weekend (to which I defensively and uncreatively replied, “I DON’T go shopping every weekend!”), I am thinking of finally buying snowshoes. It’s been on my list since the frozen tundra of Green Bay, New Year’s 2009.

Interesting discussion on Brian Lehrer Show today about wealth distribution in U.S. Guest host Mike Peska makes the point that we have a “culture of equality,” in which the millionaire and the graveyard shift factory worker might all be wearing the same cargo shorts from Old Navy. After all, even Michelle Obama shops at Target. Rich people, they’re just like us!

Facebook doesn’t allow impulse quitters. Even though I have been pondering it for 48 hours, the moment I hit the delete button was a bit impulsive. It insists on giving you 14 days to reconsider.
